Breast Lift
An
ideal breast lift candidate is one that finds their breasts have
lost their shape, firmness and have begun to sag. A breast
lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure used to help
raise and reshape sagging breasts--at least, for a time. (No surgery
can permanently delay the effects of gravity.) It is best to have
realistic expectations and results from having a breast lift.
At our practice in New York, Dr. Zevon will provide consultation
so that both of you can understand what to expect from receiving
a breast lift operation. This is also the best time to ask questions
and see if having a breast lift is right for you.
At our New York facility, a breast lift usually takes one and
a half to three and a half hours for Dr. Zevon to perform, depending
on the patient and the procedures involved. Techniques vary, but
the most common procedure involves an anchor-shaped incision following
the natural contour of the breast. Healing is a gradual process.
Although you may be up and about in a day or two, do not plan
on returning to work for a week or more, depending on how you
feel. And avoid lifting anything over your head for three to four
weeks.
