CoblationTM Resurfacing is a patented process for facial rejuvenation by skin resurfacing using radiofrequency. Surface layers of damaged skin with fine lines and wrinkles are removed during the treatment. Deeper lines and grooves in the skin may be softened. In comparison to other types of facial skin resurfacing, Coblation removes damaged skin with less pain and recovery time is shorter. Over time, the production of collagen is stimulated in treated skin yielding a softer, younger appearance.
After Coblation, it takes about one week for skin to regenerate over the treated areas. During this time, the treated areas are kept moist and may be bandaged. Treated skin may be red for a few weeks, and there may be swelling in the treated areas especially around the eyes. Coblation is usually performed in our operating room with local anesthesia or sedation depending on the extent of resurfacing and patient preference.
